Our advanced AI technology provides highly accurate plant identification by analyzing your photos and comparing them against our extensive plant database. While our AI is significantly more advanced than 99% of the apps on the market, we believe in being honest about what's possible. Factors like plant health, lighting conditions, photo angle, and seasonal changes can all affect how a plant appears in photos. Like all AI-powered identification apps, ours uses sophisticated logic and reasoning to analyze images, but no app can achieve 99% accuracy from photos alone—anyone claiming that isn't being entirely honest with you.

Several factors can influence how accurately any AI app can identify your plant: the health and condition of your plant (diseased or stressed plants may look very different), lighting and photo quality, the angle and distance of your shot, seasonal changes (flowers, leaves, dormancy), and even the age of the plant. A healthy mature oak tree looks very different from a young oak sapling! We've designed our AI to account for many of these variables, but it's important to understand that these natural factors exist.

Here's the honest truth: without genetic testing, no plant identification app can be 99% accurate. All AI apps—including ours—use visual analysis, pattern recognition, and logical reasoning to identify plants. While our technology is highly sophisticated, false positives and occasional misidentifications can happen with any AI system. The key difference is that we're transparent about these limitations while continuously working to improve our accuracy.

Plants often go by multiple names! The same species might have different common names in different regions, plus there are scientific names (Latin names) that botanists use. For example, what you call a 'money tree' might be called a 'Pachira' elsewhere. Our app provides both common and scientific names when possible, so don't worry if you see a name you don't recognize—it might just be what that plant is called in another part of the world.

Yes, absolutely! One of the founders of this company is a teacher, and education is the whole point of this app—helping people better understand the environment in which they live and how to best care for it is our goal. Radar PlantScan is proud to participate in both Apple's App Store and Google Play's educational discount programs, offering 50% off for educational institutions purchasing 20 or more copies. We also understand that the education system is not equal in all locations and some schools run on very limited resources. We want to do our best to support all students and teachers where money is limited. Please contact us directly if you work in an underfunded or underserved school and are looking to use our technology as part of your curriculum.
